Comments:
Even though I was in the class of '67 I had enough credits and graduated early in 1966.
- After graduation went to UWM for a year studying pre-Architecture.
- Summer of '67 worked for Wisconsin Electric as summer help in underground construction.
- During that summer I was notified that I had failed at UWM and could not come back for at least a year.
- Enlisted in the Navy and served from Oct. 1967 to Aug. 1971. Went to "A" school in Pensacola, Florida to become a Communication Technician. Needed a Top Secret Crypto clearance from NSA for this work. Stationed in Hawaii for two years. Back to a "C" school in Pensacola, Florida and was stationed at Adak Island, Alaska (an Aleution Island about in the middle of the chain.) Discharged in August of '71 as a Second Class Petty Officer.
- Went back to UWM for four years using the GI Bill and in graduated in 1975 with a BS in Engineering (Electrical Science) and a BS in Engineering (Computer Science). This time I finished with excellent grades. I also continued to work summers for Wisconsin Electric ('72, '73 & '74) again in underground construction.
- Worked for Wisconsin Electric starting in June 1975 and was in their Computer Department (and many name chages) for my entire 37 years there. I retired September 1, 2012.
