I'm still writing non-fiction (re SF & fantasy fiction) for a select few, and dabbling again in fantasy fiction aimed at many. Please visit me on the Allied Authors of Wisconsin website (see above) or my "John D. Haefele" Amazon Author's Page:
Current projects include (nonfiction) H. P. Lovecraft: The Great Tales, followed by August Derleth of Arkham House, and (fiction) Elder Gods.
Natalie and Lara both continue to expand their own artistic enterprises. See Natalie's art (facebook.com/GnatStvArt). See Lara's styling & photography (wisconsinhoneystyle.com)
2018 Update: My eldest daughter Natalie is the artist for a new series of books that may interest anyone with very young children in their lives. Look up Addison the Light Catcher in Amazon books, or visit www.gnatand corky.com/ to learn about this remarkable project.

Hey John, looking for a possible 50th anniversary I stumbled on this web page. Lot's of memories with you & Leon. Lovecraft & Bradbury, not a bad choice to follow. I am living on 45th street in the old Jewish/German neighborhood. You had a cousin? that went to Washington H.S. that was on crutches that always hung around too. Run into Panos once in a while. It's been over 10 years since I worked at Summerfest(25years) & along with State Fair I would run into Ricky Aaron, Mitch Lechter, Al Kalkstein, Carol LaVesser, Dennis Fideski, Joe Fiumefreddo, Chuck Benedon & others I can't recall at the moment. An author. I like it. In the last couple of years I have donated 100's of books to the library, still have 1'000's to sift through. I have four years to do it in because the wife is only going to be 61 in June which means for the insurance & meds she has to work those four years. Bigger problem is 5,000+ record albums. Carting them around & taking such good care of them for 50+ years I will never get 1/2 of what they are worth. Get some friends to help me at a record collector's convention & maybe get $5-10 each for a majority of them instead of a dollar or two to a dealer. I could set them up for sale with the help of one of my grandkids on Discogs & get some serious cash, but then you have to deal with packaging & shipping around the world. Post office will help with a scale, label printer, & postal rates around the world, even pick up. That's a lot of work. I should get rid of 4,000 sooner rather than later as those four years wind down when my wife(we) fully retire. I work part-time as a crossing guard for the Wauwatosa Schoolboard. That's enough for now...mike
