Hey John, looking for a possible 50th anniversary I stumbled on this web page. Lot's of memories with you & Leon. Lovecraft & Bradbury, not a bad choice to follow. I am living on 45th street in the old Jewish/German neighborhood. You had a cousin? that went to Washington H.S. that was on crutches that always hung around too. Run into Panos once in a while. It's been over 10 years since I worked at Summerfest(25years) & along with State Fair I would run into Ricky Aaron, Mitch Lechter, Al Kalkstein, Carol LaVesser, Dennis Fideski, Joe Fiumefreddo, Chuck Benedon & others I can't recall at the moment. An author. I like it. In the last couple of years I have donated 100's of books to the library, still have 1'000's to sift through. I have four years to do it in because the wife is only going to be 61 in June which means for the insurance & meds she has to work those four years. Bigger problem is 5,000+ record albums. Carting them around & taking such good care of them for 50+ years I will never get 1/2 of what they are worth. Get some friends to help me at a record collector's convention & maybe get $5-10 each for a majority of them instead of a dollar or two to a dealer. I could set them up for sale with the help of one of my grandkids on Discogs & get some serious cash, but then you have to deal with packaging & shipping around the world. Post office will help with a scale, label printer, & postal rates around the world, even pick up. That's a lot of work. I should get rid of 4,000 sooner rather than later as those four years wind down when my wife(we) fully retire. I work part-time as a crossing guard for the Wauwatosa Schoolboard. That's enough for now...mike
I have one story about Eddie I will never forget. We went to Craig School 1956-61 there was a bunch of us John Rojohn, Steve Dotson, Bill Loker, & George Panos that hung out in his basement because he had a nice trainset & one day for no reason at all he decided to take his dad's axe to it. End of story...mike
The thing I remember the most about Ray was his infectuous laugh. What a great guy. My Mother Lucille enjoyed quite q few of my Jewish friends, especially Al Kalkstein, & Mitch Lechter.
I remember Pano from the restaurant business where he worked at Eugene's on Wisconsin ave. Ran into his brother Kevin, who went to Marshall with my sister Nancy(1972) late 70's in the club scene.
